"Tithing" Continued...
NEW Testament Scriptures (Tithe)
There are only a few (around 3) accounts of Tithing
ever being Mentioned in the New Testament!
2 Times, when the person/People doing it (Tithe) was/were criticized,
... and the Other, when it was done away with!______________________________________________________________________________________
1. Matthew 23:23
Luke 11:42
* These two, are pretty much mirror images of one another (and therefore counted as 1 occurrence).
** Both dealt with the Heart! Not just the act! Keep in mind, The Messiah had not been to the Cross Yet!
2. Luke 18:12 (again, we see one who tithed/other under Moses Law),
But Now See The ACTS 13:39 -> Not being Justified by the Law of Moses
(Start Looking at the word "Grace").
We Are Justified By The Love Of GOD & The Love To/For GOD!
What HIS Son has done for us!
And The Faith In/Commitment To HIM; To Believe, And To Do HIS WILL!!!
It's a Heart Thing!

Here are a couple of other Scriptures that one can note regarding HIS Will!
Galatians 2:21 "... for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ [Messiah] is dead in vain."
* One has to Understand that there are various categories of Biblical law (Civil, Ceremonial, and Moral).
It can Also be thought/divided into Man's law, Moses law, and The LORD (YHWH's) Law!
Galatians 3:23-25
23 - But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24 - Wherefore, the law was our Schoolmaster "to bring us unto Christ," that we might be justified by faith.
25 - But after faith is come, we are no longer under a Schoolmaster. < Similiar to a Graduation of sorts!
The Real Reason we should come to Christ/Messiah, is because GOD's Law shows us that we are dead in our Past Sins!
YHWH's Law - also shows us how not to sin again! - Regarding HIS Will!
Galatians 3:10-13 is pretty deep (and commonly mis-understood!)
Many know Verse 13 - Christ ("The Messiah") hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, ...
But We have to take note of Verse 10 as well; who the actual curse belongs to?
* Verse 10 - " ... Cursed is everyone
that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.
With that Said!
It is Really those that Don't follow YHWH's Will (Instructions) that have the curse!
Now See/Understand Verse 13 a little better!
Christ/Messiah shed His Blood for our Sin's Past! (Romans 3:25) - Giving us another chance to do right through Him.
To Believe in Christ/Messiah, is only part of what we have to do!
The other part is to Follow His Teachings/to start Living Right - before YHWH & HIS (Elohim/GOD!)
(True Righteousness!)
Remember "We Cannot Please GOD Without Faith!" Impossible! (Hebrews 11:6)
True Faith (working by Love) to/in The LORD (YHWH), governs one's Heart to strive to do HIS Will.
True Repentance Takes place if we fall short!
GOD / YHWH Looks At Our Heart, Not Just Our Actions!
The Law (Torah), is no longer written on tablets of Stone, but is written in our Hearts, with the Law of Christ/Messiah,
The Law of GOD, and The Law of LOVE Towards HIM (Doing HIS Will/Commandments because we Love & Trust),
Is How We Please HIM!
This is The Big Picture!!!
But Now, We have to find out what is still Pleasing to HIM!
And if, anything has Changed!

Before we look at the next occurrence (Tithes Mentioned) in the New Testament, we have to reflect on the Old Testament Scripture, dealing with the Commandment of the YHWH, and the Ordinance of the Law! Dealing with the Tithe!
Let's Reflect back on NUMBERS Chapter 18.
Verse 20 (18:20) Levites have no Inheritance among the Children of Israel. (Because of the following verse!)
Verse 21 (18:21) Children of Levi given All the Tenth (Tithes) in Isreal for Inheritance from YHWH - the LORD!
This was given for their service, (tabernacle of the congregation!) (Reflect on Verse 20 & 24)
Verse 22 (18:22) Children of Israel (not allowed) to come near the tabernacle... (Verses 20-24 --> Not So Today!)
Take note to yourself; This Has Changed Right?
It's Not a Building / Stone Tablet thing Anymore, (THE ACTS 7:48-51, HEBREWS 8:6-10, 10:15-16, 2 COR. 3:3)
** It is a Heart / Body [Spirit] thing now, (1 CORINTHIANS 3:16, 6:19, 2 CORINTHIANS 6:19)
Verse 23 (18:23) Levitical Priest's are [were] to bear the Iniquity of the People. (See the Inheritance part!)
(Statute/Ordinance) not done anymore!
** We Know That there is another/New High Priest that Bears Our Iniquity now, Right! (ISAIAH 53:5)
Verse 24 (18:24) Tithes were given to the Levites! (That is why you see Verse 20, No Inheritance...)
Note: Verses 20-24 do not apply Today! Look at each one closely!
Verse 24 means One without the other! Take Heed!
(Do not accept part of the verse, and neglect the other!)

We Now -- Know that the "Taking and Giving of Tithes" was an Ordinance of the Law!
Something YHWH "The LORD" Told Aaron (and Moses) To Hand Down To The People -- To Do!
Pertaining to that/other Ordinance(s) of the Law!
Colossians 2:14 (comes to mind!)
- Blotting out the handwriting of ordinance(s) that was against us,
which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way,
>>> nailing it to his cross (Stauros);
We Know that something changed, because we see a change in (THE ACTS 4:36-37), a Levite owning Land!
(This was After the Cross! Their is no mention of Tithes here, but what we do see is relevant!)
Remember (NUMBERS 18:20) - Levites to have No Inheritance in the Land! (Hmmmmm)
We also know that the ordinance was against the people / Levitical Priest (to Give their Best 10th/10%),
for when they did it in the (Book of Malachi), we see that they gave,
but they gave stuff that they themselves couldn't even use! Sick & Blind Animals, etc..
The LORD said this was evil, and that their very own Governor wouldn't even be pleased with them.
Was GOD (YHWH/Elohiym) Pleased?
NO!!! GOD (YHWH/Elohiym) WAS NOT PLEASED!
HEBREWS 10:7-10 tells us that!
* GOD was not pleased, with the Previously Offered Sacrifices/other offered up by The LAW!
** This was because "the People" stayed the same (They learned the act, but their Hearts did not change!)
8 - Above, when he said, Sacrifice, and offering, and burnt offerings, and offering for sin thou wouldest not,
neither hadst pleasure in them (GOD Had "NO Pleasure" in Them), which are offered by the law,
* Keep in mind that The Tithe was a portion (A Tenth) of the Sacrifice / offerings -> offered by the law.
See Verses 9-12. Taking away the first, that HE may establish the second (one offering for all).

Still dealing with that Ordinance of the Law: (HERE'S SOMETHING YOU MIGHT NOT HEAR FROM OTHERS!!!)
And Many People (even in Ministry) Don't Know The Below Information!
* The Levitical Priests/Earthly Ministry collecting Tithe from the people, as Command of The LORD - Changed!
Take Note!
Our High Priest is No Longer On Earth & Our Tabernacle is not the Same - as of Old! (Numbers 18:21-23)
The Above Verses should Teach Something Significant! - Of Importance!
Now let's take a look at Something Else That is Important!
HEBREWS 7:5
5 - And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood,
have a Commandment "to take tithes" of the people
according to the law, this is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham;
* According to the Law, dealing with a Commandment to take tithes!
HEBREWS 7:11-12
11 - If, therefore, perfection were by the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need was
there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchiz`edek, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
12 - For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity
----------------- A change also of the law. ---------------------
18 - For there is verily an disannulling [Greek Word "athetesis" = Cancellation]
of the Commandment going before the weakness and unprofitableness of it.
The Word Used Here Equals:
Cancellation - Cancellation - Cancellation - Cancellation
"Cancellation" Is The Word That Was Used! Again - "Cancellation" Is The Word That Was Used!
*** What is the Only Commandment mentioned in the 7th Chapter of Hebrews?
You guessed it, "Commandment to take tithes!" Verse 5, Now reread Verse 18 Again!

The Above Information seems to be either Drastically Ignored, or Unknown to Most Modern Day Churches!

We can also see that in HEBREWS 8:13 that the New Covenant/People makes the first old, to vanish away!
That's Pretty much why you don't see the Apostles (whom The Messiah hand picked), talking about Tithing to New or Old Converts/Believers. Keep in mind, that The Apostles taught from, and were Direct followers of The Messiah. If they were still under it, wouldn't they (Apostles) have talked about it! At least Once, don't you think? They Taught from their Epistles, didn't they!
10% was out, The word "Tithing" was out!
You Don't see them using it!
In fact, here is an excerpt from what the Apostles
(AND "Ruach Ha Qodesh" / "THE HOLY SPIRIT" )
thought would be good for the New Believers (Gentiles) to do!
THE ACTS 15:24, 28-29
24 - Forasmuch as we have heard that certain who went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls,
saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law, to whom we gave no such commandment,
* Certain things/or ways of doing things from Moses' law had been Changed - with deeper meaning! (Romans 2:26-29)
28 - For it seemed good to the HOLY Spirit (Ghost), and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these
necessary things:
29 - That ye abstain from things (meats) offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication;
from which, if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
* This Is "Not" To Say (This is Not Suggesting) that new believers/Gentiles were to disregard GOD's Law!
Did the Apostles say Adultry, False Witnessing, Stealing/Theft, Lust/Coveting, Dishonoring parents, etc., was ok?
Better check Verse 21 out! - (The Acts 15:21)
They knew that the new converts would also learn more of GOD's Will, in the synagogues each Sabbath!
